Ethics in implementation research

TDR

About This Course

This course delves into the ethical dimensions of implementation research (IR), tailored for researchers and health program implementers working in low- and middle-income settings. Participants will gain an understanding of how to ethically navigate all phases of IR, from formulating relevant research questions that address community needs to ensuring robust informed consent and protecting participant privacy during data collection. The course also explores justice considerations, such as fair participant selection and providing equitable access to proven interventions. Additionally, it emphasizes the ethical responsibility of researchers to disseminate findings transparently, build local research capacity, and engage communities in a meaningful and sustained way. Through a series of nine lectures, this course equips learners with the knowledge and tools needed to design and implement IR projects that are ethically sound, culturally appropriate, and impactful
